Pumpkins

I can't believe it's almost Halloween. We took Megan to the pumpkin patch this last weekend. The whole family went. Even though she doesn't get it I think she had fun. She loves watching her cousins. Stay tuned for Halloween pictures to follow.

Rolling Over

About 2 weeks ago Megan started rolling over. She can go from her tummy to back and back to her tummy again. She loves it. She rolls on her side so she can see what we're doing or what is on tv.
We went for her 4 month check-up yesterday and she weighs 12.8 pounds and is 25 inches long. When they get weighed you have to strip them down to nothing... well, when I picked her up off the scale she peed all over me. The nurse just laughed. The doctor said everything looks great and we can start giving her cereal mixed with formula and feeding her with a spoon. She also got shots, you never would have known though. She cried with the needle went in but as soon as I picked her up she stooped and when we were out making her next appointment she was laughing with the nurses. What a little trooper.

Poor Megan

So I am going to tell on myself a little - not that I did anything wrong but it's just funny. Well every mom knows how hard it is to have a baby and try and go to the bathroom. Sometimes you just have to take them with you and lay them on the rug. Well we had just come in from getting the mail and Megan was awake so I took off the front carrier and laid her down.... well by the time I was done this was my poor kid....

Beach

I know it's been a while since I updated last and I apologize for that.

Megan, Curtis and I had a blast at the beach. I know Curtis' wished he could have been down there the whole week with us but was busy with Range Master School. He had so much fun during his class.

Megan absolutely loved the beach. It kind of spoiled her in a way though. I'll tell you more about that later. She loved being in her stroller, the front carrier and even the crazy tent I bought for her. Because we took my 2 older nephews with us I think Megan thought she had 2 older brothers all of a sudden and when we got home I know she was bored with just me.

The weather was great and the waves were perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better week.

Poor Megan though because we went on the pier a couple of times had to be bundled up. She was a trooper though.

As for her being spoiled well it kind of bit me in the butt because I didn't even think about it and she wasn't in her car seat for a whole week and she was used to going to sleep in the front carrier. Let's just say it took all of last week to get her back into the swing of things.

Mom

I often find myself late at night sitting on the couch looking at Megan and crying. I start to think about my mom and how much I miss her. I think about everything she is missing. I know she is looking down on us and I truly believe that she is Megan's guardian angel. But that doesn't always help. I just want to talk to her one more time. I want her to hold Megan and teach her things that I can't. I am MAD! August 11th it was 4 years since she left us. Everyday I think it's going to get easier but I think it's only gotten harder. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her or talk to her. I can hear her laugh and say "see I told you it would work out"when I panic over something stupid.

As next week approaches and we head for the beach I am saddened because this is the first time I will stay at the beach without her.

If you smoke or know of someone that does, please tell them to stop, it's not too late. One more day is another day that someone else might not have.

Coolest Thing

With having a 2 month old who is not supposed to be in the sun and here we are going to the beach for a week I had to buy something for her to "hang out" in. Well after searching and searching I finally decided to go with this Pea Pod even after I read all the complaints about it. Well let me tell you, this is the coolest thing ever if you have a little one and go to the beach or camping often. This is a little tent just for your little one. It has a blow up mattress and zips up and folds up easily. People must not have read the directions because this thing was a piece of cake. Hey if I can fold this thing up anyone can, and I can't fold up the sun shade half the time. I just had to share. :)

The life of a 2 month old.

We are so blessed to have so many friends and family. But the problem is that everyone is so spread out and so I thought this way I could keep everyone updated and they can read it and follow us as often as I post.

Well Megan is now 2 months old. She is such a good baby. She is sleeping through the night. She has just discovered she has feet. She looks at them and gets a funny look on her face as if she's asking herself where did these things come from. She loves to kick anything her little foot touches. I'm just glad she hasn't kicked me in the face form kissing her feet, well at least not yet anyways.
Curtis is back to work now but is not patrolling the streets anymore. He has been selected to be a Defense Tactics Instructor at the Academy. He had to go through a 2 week school and man did they beat up on him but he loved every minute of it. He works Monday-Friday with every other Friday off, 6am - 3pm. We couldn't have asked for a better schedule.
I am getting to fulfill one of my dreams of being a stay-at-home mom. Megan and I are having so much fun together.
We are actually going to go to the beach for a week. My dad rented a beach house the last week in August and I can't wait.
